An award from Japan's Ministry of the Environment recognizing outstanding contributions to climate action. Our fisher-led seaweed bed restoration and blue carbon work were honored.
A national scheme in which the Minister of the Environment certifies areas managed for biodiversity conservation. The restored seaweed beds at Kushiura are certified as a site contributing to Japan's biodiversity targets.
Blue carbon credit certification by the Japan Blue Economy Association (JBE). CO₂ absorbed by the restored beds is certified through third-party review and made available to companies as credits.
